点评：I visited here in the winter months. I am starting to think that Arkansas cares very little for their Civil War sites that are south of Little Rock, with the exception of Historic Washington (which was not a battlefield). As many others have stated, there is very little here, aside from a few plaques and monuments, along with picnic tables. I think more people come here for the boat launch to put into the Saline River. I drove five hours specifically for this site. I understand the difficulties in constructing anything permanent along the Saline River, due to the flooding. But I feel there still could be something, maybe even a small visitor center in Leola to explain the battle and its significance. Last I heard, a private organization puts on a reenactment nearby around the anniversary of the battle. This is supposedly on private land, so I do not know how one gains access.
