点评:I have to declare a bias here, my maternal grandparents lived in Ainsdale and I always spent my summer holidays there in the early sixties. The beach and sandhills were my Universe for 6 glorious summer weeks. I brought my children here many times and now my grandchildren. Sitting on the sand watching the far away sea deep blue with the sandhills behind you is a wonderful way to waste away an afternoon. Not much has changed in 65 years, the estate has been built putting a kink in Shore Road, Pontins has come and now gone and you have to pay £10 to park on the sand. It is well maintained and secure so if the money raised helps preserve the flora and fauna I am content to pay. I hope the place where my mum met my dad in WW2 is preserved and that many more generations can get the pleasure I and my family have had over the years. Miss the steam trains though!
