Excellent Destination to Buy Local Snacks

点评：The basement supermarket is an excellent place to purchase local snacks and foods. The fruit section has imported specialties like durian and jack fruit for competitive prices, as well as seasonal fruit from the region that is fresh and well presented. Much of the supermarket space is dedicated to local snacks, packaged perfectly for packing in luggage and bringing back home to share with friends and family.
As a state owned enterprise, the store’s staff to customer ratio is very generous, with 5 employees per customer on both of my visits, so there’s always someone available to answer questions and show customers where things are. At the same time, some of the staff can be a bit aggressive (in a friendly way) when trying to sell certain products.
At the point of sale, there is no screen for customers to view the actual prices that come up for each item being scanned, so customers should carefully check their receipts. I was charged twice for a plastic bag, though I only purchased one, a reminder to always check receipts.
There are several dining spaces just beyond the cash registers for those who wish to snack on their purchases. I enjoyed my durian there to avoid smelling up the hotel room.
