Lovely trip but lessons learned
Portland Experience-Rio Grande Rafting Jamaica的点评
点评：My wife and I wanted to take a raft with our 17 year old son. The staff at the main office told us they could not allow this as it would invalidate their insurance. There were many unofficial raft practitioners hanging around outside and they offered to take us all for the same price (90$) quoted by the officials. We decided to accept the offer from the unlicensed company as we wanted to experience the trip collectively as a family.
The trip was nice but the guy steering the raft was a little cheesy at times and kept telling us that he had 4 kids to feed. When we got to the end of the river, he suddenly switched on us and said that we owed him 160$ for the trip and 3500 jamaican $ for taking our car to the finishing point.
I told him that those tactics were dishonest and they should have been up front with us at the time.
The moral of the story is, don't get drawn in by the sweet talking bullsh*t merchants, take the official option otherwise you will get ripped off and it doesn't matter how pleasant a trip down the river might be, there's nothing worse than knowing that you've been duped.
