Enjoyable evening in comfortable and pleasant surroundings
Weymouth Pavilion的点评
点评：Thursday evening 26th June we had booked tickets for the Carpenters tribute act. The show was "Yesterday Once More" The Carpenters Song Book with Toni Lee.
We parked up at our Hotel, Best Weston-super-Mare, Rembrandt, where we were staying overnight and walked into towards Town and the Pavilion. We did make a slight detour for a drink and something to eat at the "Spoons" William Henry.
We then walked to the Pavilion which is located southern end of Weymouth's Esplanade in the Bay.
The original Pavilion building opened in 1908, however it was destroyed by fire in 1954. The reconsiruction of the current building began in 1958 and it reopened in 1960.
It is now the entertainment hub in the Town and is home to a theatre, restaurants and bars.
At the appropriate time we were ushered into the Auditorium and shown to our front row seats. We sat back in our comfortable seats and waited for the performance to begin.
As we waited it was an opportunity to look around the spacious and well maintained Auditorium.
The staff here were helpful and friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere.
At the intermission we visited the bar in the foyer, drinks were served in plastic glasses and there was £1 deposit charged on the glass. There was also a popcorn and ice cream kiosk.
There were other oddities in the foyer like a figure of Elvis and some sort of old theatre control panel.
We really enjoyed the show in comfortable and pleasant surroundings.
