点评:I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but this isn’t an inexpensive activity so I want people to - especially those balancing budget decisions with kids - to be able to make an informed choice.
There are some cool artifacts on display in the museum, including old school chocolate advertising and materials. The tour begins with an overview of how chocolate is made, its Mexican origins, etc, which is good.
But most people I know would be going in a factory tour for an in depth look at the process in action. And that’s where this falls very short. I took my nieces, ages 7 and 9, and they were disappointed to not see anything in action. Not a single machine was on, the samples were old, and our group of 4 adults and 2 kids quite honestly would’ve stepped off the tour out of boredom but felt bad for our lovely young tour guide. I can’t imagine how frustrated younger kids would be.
One person in our party works in manufacturing and also had some concerns about cleanliness and workplace safety from what we observed.
Again, I want to emphasize that our tour guide was great. She knew the material and did her best. But there just wasn’t much to explain or see. I would pay a maximum of $3 per person for this tour and it’s $15-20 pp.
