点评:My family of four (myself, wife, children ages 14 and 10) did this tour recently. It was excellent. Our guide (I believe his name was Doug) was incredibly knowledgeable - he was a great guide. It was two hours full of information, anecdotes, and some humor mixed in. He was happy to answer any questions, and was clearly very passionate about what he was doing. Steel is a huge part of the history of Pittsburgh (and America) so it was really interesting to get a behind the scenes look at an old plant. They are devoting a lot of resources to making it more accessible while also not changing it from how it was.
Two hours is a pretty long tour. Our kids found it interesting but started losing interest as it went along. They were well-behaved. Other similarly aged kids on the tour started losing interest earlier and were goofing off. Know your kids. I believe it is advertised as for ages eight and up but that might be a bit of a stretch. There also aren't really many areas to sit so it is two hours on your feet, with some stairs. Nothing too strenuous but I'm not sure I would want to do it in blazing heat.
Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend it for anyone interested in history.
