点评：I stumbled upon the recently opened Luss Distillery while exploring the beautiful town of Luss. Enticed by the signs explaining entry was free of charge I was greeted by four modern buildings which have their own dedicated purpose. The cafe was a great rest stop for travellers who want delicious food or drink, the Discovery Centre is an interactive education into the history of gin and whiskey, the Distillery gives you a glimpse into the steampunk esk devices that go into the crafting process, and the shop holds an amazing array of Loch Lomond whiskeys and Ben Lomond Gins with a dedicated tasting area to the rear.
As a solo participant I was made to feel most welcome, and was offered a tasting experience with a guided tour of the whiskeys and gins based on my personal preferences by the two very knowledgeable gentlemen. It’s clear to see they are experts and quite passionate and knowledgeable about the blends and flavour profiles of their whiskeys and gins - all served with a sense of humour and care.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, and walked out with a bottle of a newer blend of the Loch Lomond whiskey which is not available currently in my local area to savour and enjoy. No pressure throughout the experience to purchase, but I was converted after tasting the delicious blends.
An experience I will definitely repeat again in the future when I visit the area again.
