点评:A concerning visit to Talkin Tarn this morning, I'm new to paddleboarding but a regular visitor for nearly 70 years, my first concern was the total lack of information concerning water quality, despite the website and the SUP permit advising that you check the noticeboard before venturing out onto the tarn, the shop had no knowledge of a noticeboard or had any information, fortunately the young lady in the cabin for boat hire was able to help, her view was that information is very rarely displayed and maybe once or twice a year the water readings are taken, so it was safe to take to the water, very reassuring, fortunately my visit was over the weekend but if you visit midweek outside the school holidays you would be left wondering. It may seem unimportant but what other oversites are Carlisle City Council takings, in this day and age Health and Safety are paramount, they now charge for parking and water permits supposedly to help with costs but obviously not with safety. Beware, you have been warned.
