点评:Mill Springs is a relatively new National Monument. The Visitor Center includes a well-organized and extensive museum detailing the battle. There is an associated 10-stop self-guided Driving Tour that you can pair with the NPS App to hear about the events at each stop. Unfortunately, due to rainy weather, we were able to only make quick stops at the first 4 stops. And because of the weather, did not take the time to hike the first stop. The bookstore, for now, contains a limited selection of items, but we’ve been told that more items will be arriving to their gift shop. If you’re a fan of the Civil War, and even if you’re not, but would like to visit a key battle site, this National Monument is a recommended stop. Just be sure to allot time to complete the driving, and sometimes, hiking tour. When visiting battlefields, seeing the physical geography makes a difference when reading about the battle.
