点评:As an English speaking couple we used WhatsApp to contact Aromas Chocolat and visited at 4pm for a tour. Work on the farm is generally happening prior to that, so tours are generally scheduled at 4pm or later. On the day we went, we were the only couple.
It was a really lovely way to connect with someone who has build a small business on Raiatea, and super unusual to find someone making genuine bean to bar chocolate themselves. It gave a real appreciation of how much work and care goes into every bar.
Throughout the making process all the steps were well explained from the cacao flowers and pods on the tree, all the way to tempering and making bars. We had interesting tastings along the way of the various stages and great end product. If you are a fan of REAL boutique chocolate or would like a glimpse into a small independent agri business, or even just meeting someone who has a real passion for their craft… don’t miss this! Definitely recommend. A very personal and friendly experience.
