A small but lovely stop while in Maidstone

点评：We visited today as a family and the kids had two different treasure hunts to do through the house (looking for matching windows and doorknobs) which was a lovely touch and they got really into their hunt. They also had block printing on in the library which they really enjoyed trying, and some second hand books for sale.
The house is small but unusual and beautiful and lovely to wander through, as were the gardens with lovely views.
The volunteers were passionate and enthusiastic talking at length about the house and the renovation works and made us feel very welcome.
We parked in the village by the playground on the common, and visited the Little Travelling Bean coffee shop (amazing cakes!) and play area before wandering up to the house. It was a nice way for the kids to burn off some energy before we went in. It's only 4 minutes walk away.
Such a beautiful area of the countryside. We are as always very grateful for the National Trust and everyone in it.
