Great day trip to Fitzroy Island with a toddler

点评：If you are visiting Cairns, a day trip to Fitzroy Island is a must. We spent a full day exploring the island in April and it was a massive hit with our 3 y/o daughter.
The Nudey Beach walk is beautiful. It is a scenic rainforest track that opens up to spectacular coastal views.
The snorkeling was a major highlight for us. We easily hired snorkels and stinger suits right on the island. The fringing reef was gorgeous, and we were lucky enough to see two sea turtles alongside plenty of colorful fish.
The island is completely toddler approved. She loved playing safely in the shallow water, spotting tiny crabs on the shore, and napping under the great shady areas.
There is a restaurant on the island and you can get good coffee there too. We still chose to pack a picnic since we stayed all day, and bringing our own lunch for a beach picnic was a great choice. It is an incredibly well suited spot for families traveling with little ones.
