点评:Surprised to read an overall of 4.8 after our experience today. We must of got really unlucky.
Stumbled across this lovely looking restaurant today with my family. Asked if they did gluten free, which they did, so we took a seat. After looking through the menu we approached the bar to order. A young lad took the order and I asked if there was any coatings on the chips. He replied ‘yeah’ I explained I had a garlic allergy so asked again what coatings were on the chips. He replied ‘salt and stuff like that’ I then asked if he could please be specific about ingredients. He then said ‘if you have an allergy scan the QR code’ I explained that garlic isn’t one of the listed allergens so wouldn’t be much use to scan. He then asked a young girl if she knew what was on the chips. She replied ‘salt and oil to stick the salt’ and confirmed no garlic. We then order duck pizza, no duck. Ok that’s understandable. We then order some pizzas, hot dog and a burger. I asked if they could check if garlic was in the tomato base as a lot of bought sauces include it. I was once again told to scan the QR code. I once again explain garlic isn’t on the listed allergens. The young girl then says ‘it’s what we have to tell customers who have allergens to scan the QR code’ I explain a third time that it isn’t listed so would be a waste of my time but I went for my phone, scanned the QR code and low and behold garlic isn’t listed. So I asked if they could go and check please, if garlic was in the sauce. The young girl quite rudely said she would go and check. She came back and said ‘it doesn’t say no garlic’ so I asked again if it had garlic to which she said no very unconfidently. I began to feel a like a hindrance at this point and it wasn’t a very nice feeling. We then get told there is no GF bun for the hotdog, no problem, bread will be ok as long as GF, again understandable.
The food that came was enjoyed by all and zero complaints in that regard.
However, to suffer allergies and have children that suffers allergies in a food establishment that can’t be helpful without huffing and puffing is really upsetting. It is a basic right to question what is contained within the food we are about to consume and we shouldn’t have left feeling like we were a burden. Many people suffer allergies and not all allergies are listed which I hope some of the young staff have learnt there today. Unfortunately, despite the food being nice I wouldn’t visit again due to the overall service and the fact we were left with dirty plates on the tables whilst staff chatted away quite some time after we had finished our meal.
