Very disappointing trip - I do not recommend Molly Bawn.

点评：The trip on June 23, 2025 at 1pm was very disappointing. The Naturalist on board only did a life jacket demonstration and we never heard from her again… she stayed at the front of the boat while the rest of us were seated in the back. The sea was very, very rough so it took us a while to reach the island where the puffins were nesting. We stayed for literally 5 minutes before the Cpt headed back to the dock. I get it that sometimes you are not able to see what you hoped to see and that the sea can be rough. This is not our complaint.
However, there were hundreds of puffins to observe. If the seas were that rough that we couldn’t even stay for 15min, they should have cancelled the trip. The ride back was calm and the naturalists could have been in the back with all of us talking about the wildlife - but she was not. She stayed up front. When we returned, to the dock, there was a new group waiting to go out. It definitely felt like a money grab. No connection with staff, 5 minutes to observe birds, and back to the dock.
Not sure if this is what all the operators do, but the boat did run straight into the puffins on the water where they quickly took flight and then left the area. It seemed like this was deliberately done to create a stressed puffin swarm so people could get their photo shots.
Ok, done my rant! But seriously, I would hope there would be better operators 😞
