点评:This was a nice experience!
I know how to identify the tracks of a bear or a deer, but I had problems with the wild boar ones and the wolf/dog ones. Anyway, I figured out that attending this workshop, "The prints of the animals" will give me some answers and extra knowledge from *someone who knows* (that being Joe).
The activity has three parts: the theoretical part and the outdoor part, where you get to business. And there is also a contest, in which teams made up on the spot have to carefully examine 8 tracks and answer some questions. (We won!)
The length seems a bit much: 4 hours! But time flies when you debate if this is the right leg or the left leg and yes, these are the prints from a bird, but...which kind?
One thing I appreciated is that Joe doesn't just give you a straight answer. It teaches you how to have a good thought process in analyzing what you have in front of you.
The group size was small - we were 5 - but it was a good size for us.
Also, we were all adults, but this kind of activity would go great with families with kids, especially if they are above 5 years old.
PS: At the end, on the hill, we had a lovely moment: on one side it was the sunset, on the other side it was a full moonrise. This was such a prize!
