点评:My late father served in the Royal Corps of Signals from 1943 - 1947, I had visited once before about 8 years ago, so took my wife with me this time.
Firstly I might be biased (as dad’s regiment I’m very biased!) but as regimental museums go I think this is one of the best. It tells the story of military communications from earliest times, up to Afghanistan and Iraq. It explains simply, but also includes snippets of the more technical for those who understand it. There’s lots to entertain children, it’s a lot more than medals and old uniforms. The Naafi cafe is good. Both times I’ve visited current serving troops from camp have been in, some recruits training being shown the history of their regiment.
Special thanks must be given to Ryan who after a brief chat about my father’s service, went off found some relevant history, which he copied and found us walking around to give me.
Ryan certainly upholds the regimental motto ‘Certa Cito’ - Swift and Sure!
