An excellent morning out
South Australian Aviation Museum的点评
点评：My teenage son is a big aviation fan so we pretty much booked a weekend in Adelaide - flying up from Tassie - purely for a visit to this museum.
Thankfully it didn’t just live up to expectations, it exceeded them!
We got a cab out to the museum from the CBD, and thanks to the good directions on the website it wasn’t too much of a problem to find, even with the new entrance.
We found the entrance fee to be very reasonable, there was a small but well stocked gift shop, and the basic A4 print out of the collection was very helpful as we made our way round. We also bought the more detailed guide on our way out.
The collection of planes and memorabilia is very impressive - lots of space to walk around them, a good viewing gallery for taking photos, quite a few aircraft that you can actually step onboard and explore, and some very informative and interesting information boards.
We also found everyone we encountered from the volunteer/staff team to be very friendly and welcoming. A particular thanks to the person - sorry we didn’t catch his name - who gave us a lift to the train station when we were done to save us a second cab fare! Very generous and kind.
As an aviation fan, my son had an absolutely brilliant time. And even as the less-interested parent, I really enjoyed myself too. Hope to be back for a second visit before too long.
