点评:We had family visiting from the prairies and wanted them to experience a nice lunch at a Niagara winery. I picked Peninsula Ridge based on the menu, location and other reviews. Our server Michelle was efficient and professional. Three of us had the pasta special of the day -- penne with steak and red peppers in a white cream sauce. We weren't offered freshly ground pepper or parmesan topping when the plates arrived, although the table next to us (different server) was. We were not offered more bread either, again, the table next to us was. The penne was cooked perfectly al dente, but the cream sauce was bland and the steak was overdone and tough as an old boot. The whole dish was underseasoned, but no salt on the table, so they have one of those chefs. Husband had the cajun chicken sandwich which came with a side salad; he enjoyed the sandwich and the salad was average. We shared cherry cheesecake for dessert, which along with the bread, was the best thing we had. The coffee was also outstanding. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, the old house beautifully restored. The main floor dining room is quite small, and we had loud people at the next table so sometimes hard to talk with others at our table. Regrettably not the special experience we wanted for our visitors. I cannot recommend. Wished we had gone to Just Cooking in Vineland instead for top notch service and great food, although not as scenic.
