Overpriced café fare
Idle Valley Nature Reserve的点评
点评：Let me begin by saying that I like the Idle Valley nature reserve. It is a very picturesque venue that has a pleasant walking track circumnavigating its centra lake. I like that aspect of the reserve very much.
However, what I do not like about the reserve, is its café. Or, to be more specific, the prices charged in the café, for what on the whole is not exactly haute cuisine.
The quality of the bread served, for instance, is of the cheapest variety [there was a time when they served thick cut bloomer bread of good quality. Better quality bread is served in Morrisons café] and the price of the cakes, mostly mass-produced tray-bakes, at £3.50, are overpriced. And a portion of carrot cake, for example, at £4.25, is exorbitant. I am fully aware that there are those who frequent the reserve who think nothing of paying such prices. I am not one of them.
In conclusion, therefore, although I may well continue to frequent the reserve, I will not be imbibing in any of the café's overpriced fare.
