点评:I thoroughly recommend the Beaver Enclosure Tour for anyone who is interested in how these cute but elusive rodents have been successfully reintroduced to the UK. The highlight of the 90 minute tour is seeing the incredible results of their tree-felling activities and their well-used track, complete with footprints. However, they live on islands in the lake so cannot be seen from the tour route; they mainly sleep during the day, so any chance encounter is extremely unlikely.
Just be aware that the tour involves a walking distance of 2.8 miles at quite a fast pace. At this time of year, the track we followed is very muddy and my wife was unable to extract her ankle-length boots from the mud at one point. She had to clamber out of the mud in her socks while another member of the tour rescued her boots. I would not recommend a visit for most people in the current ground conditions who are not wearing walking boots.
Be prepared- this is not a gentle stroll in the countryside. Also, take a water bottle with you as you will need to stay hydrated during this expedition.
