An overall good visit with a few let downs

点评：A mixed but fair review.
I don’t think the admission is a bad price considering you get access to the animals, play areas both inside and outside and extras like the tractor ride.
It’s not a zoo by any means and if you were going solely for the animals then it wouldn’t be worth the price - however in saying that the animals are varied, look well and seem cared for. It would be nice to see some live talks, petting/feeding times added to the offering to make the animal section more immersive, educational and interactive for all.
The outdoor area has a good variety of play equipment ranging from large sand pits, climbing frames of all sizes and slides and bouncy pillows. The tractor ride is a short journey with a few things to see along the way, just enough time for toddlers before they get bored.
The play barn is great, boasting a good soft play area for babies and toddlers and a wooden large section for older children. It would be nice to see the age limit for the toddler section enforced by staff members to avoid little ones being at risk.
My main issue with places like these however is the “no picnic/own food” rule (which by the way most people don’t follow with good reason). When you pay to enter, rules on own food should be relaxed, especially when the cafe offering is not nutritious or appealing. Just because children are on a day out does not mean they want fried foods, fruit juices, crisps and chocolate. Parents will buy hot drinks…we live on coffee! Purchasing should be an option not a rule. Staff were friendly and helpful, cleaned a high chair for me thoroughly when I asked for a cloth and spray to clean it myself, but the table was filthy.
Overall I would say Amerton is a good trip for toddlers and young children. It’s a good few hours trip…not a full day but who needs a full day with a toddler in tow!

然而，我对这类地方的主要意见是“禁止野餐/自带食物”的规定（顺便说一句，大多数人不遵守这条规定是有充分理由的）。付费入场后，关于自带食物的规定应该放宽，尤其是在咖啡馆提供的食品营养不良或缺乏吸引力的情况下。孩子们外出游玩并不意味着他们想吃油炸食品、果汁、薯片和巧克力。家长会买热饮……我们靠咖啡生活！购买应该是一种选择，而不是规定。工作人员很友好，乐于助人。我要求用抹布和喷雾自己清洁高脚椅，但他们帮我彻底清洁了，因为桌子很脏。
总的来说，我觉得阿默顿是适合幼儿和年幼儿童的旅行。这是一次不错的几个小时的旅行……虽然不是一整天，但谁需要带着一个蹒跚学步的孩子玩一整天呢！
