点评:My teenage daughter is interested in farming and was given a 'Be a farmer workshop' for her birthday.
We started with the public 'meet the animals workshop', led by Emily. It was in a barn with two calves, five sheep with lambs, five goat kids, four pigs and some chicks. It was very interactive and we got to hold chicks, bottle feed the goats and hand-feed the sheep, lambs and calves. The pigs ate at our feet and we could touch them. We also collected eggs from the hen house.
Then we spent two hours with Dale on the 'Be a farmer workshop' and it was exactly as described: feeding, watering, mucking out and moving the animals that we had already met, plus some more goats and chickens in the fields.
I'm glad that we did both of the workshops as the experiences were very different. We didn't use the play equipment or the picnic area, though the toilet facilities were good and clean.
Our afternoon completely lived up to expectations but be aware that this is not a farm 'park': it's quite small and doesn't take long to go around. I think you'd massively miss out if you didn't attend the 'meet the animals' session as that was so interactive.
Thank you to Dale and Emily for a really good afternoon.
