From the moment we stepped aboard, we knew we were in safe hands. Skipper Connor inspired complete confidence with his calm professionalism and safety-first approach, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the experience. His local knowledge brought every stop to life, while the lovely Grace kept everything running smoothly with warmth and friendliness.
The scenery was breathtaking. We cruised across the shimmering green waters of Lough Swilly and the rolling waves added to the excitement. Along the way we spotted shags (birds!) perched on the rocks, orange sea squirts beneath the waterline, and even beautiful starfish.
History and nature blended perfectly as we passed the imposing Fort Dunree and Macamish Fort, each with its own captivating story. Beautiful sea caves added mystique.
Then there was Ballymastocker Beach, which was breathtaking. It’s easy to understand why it’s often regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with its sweeping golden sands and crystal-clear waters.
The whole experience was filled with good craic, stunning scenery, fascinating history and unforgettable wildlife. It was the perfect day spent on the magnificent expanse of Lough Swilly.
Whether you’re a local or visiting Donegal for the first time, Swilly Boat Tours deserves a place at the very top of your list.
