Hidden Gem in Uco Valley

点评：This is truly a family run bodega. We went here after Zuccardi. Gimenez Rillii (GR) is the exact opposite of our tour at Zuccardi. GR is small and more like a ranch layout with a fire pit off the dining area and there was a lamb being roasted the day we visited. There is also a green area and pond for relaxing and enjoying wine. The restaurant has an all glass wall and nearby there is a boutique hotel within walking distance. We would definitely return just to stay at their hotel.
The tour was only me and my husband; we were shown the vineyard and the cellar. The guide gave us a taste from a French oak barrel that was holding Petite Verdot and it was delicious. This was the only tour in all of Mendoza and Uco Valley where the guide gave us a taste from the barrel.
He showed us how the vines are processed and the grapes sorted. It is a small operation but absolutely wonderful and intimate. There are photos of the family in all areas of the bodega and paintings of all things wine. It is artsy, clean, intellectual, modern, green and comfortable and not crowded so there is a sense of peace and of not being rushed.
We heard the food is wonderful and the empanadas homemade daily, but we had a lunch scheduled at La Azul. This bodega is a definite jewel and we highly recommend a visit here.
