MUSEUM NOT TO MISSED - AMAZING
Bakewell Old House Museum的点评
点评：We visited yesterday and were warmly greeted by Charlotte who took us through the original front door and gave us a fantastic introduction about the Old House. Charlotte was so knowledgeable and explained the history of the house when it was built right up to the present date.
We completed the downstairs rooms first and we were totally amazed with how each room had been preserved.
We particularly liked the open fireplace with an original massive oak beam. We also thoroughly enjoyed looking at the kitchen complete with a wood fired/coal aga, pots, pans and items used in a kitchen......brought back so many lovely memories of our childhood.
We then proceeded upstairs to find so much more history and items from the past.
We have visited many museums and stately homes over the years and have to say that this is by far the best due to so many items and history.
We were surprised that the museum was so empty because it should be very busy as its like a time capsule.
I appreciate that it's not right in the town centre but its literally just behind the church which is a 5 minute walk away.
If you have mobility issues and wouldn't manage the walk we did notice about 6-8 parking spaces right outside the museum for 2 hours.
We were inside for about and hour and a quarter.
We would highly recommend you visit this wonderful Old House museum if you want to step back in time and relive some wonderful memories.
