点评:It's been at least 10-years since I last visited The Weir Garden and I am sorry to say that it's less garden and more "managed rewilding". There are some stunning views from parts of the garden and the walled garden is a great addition. However, I was saddened by the lack of "life" in the garden. During my visit today I didn't hear any bird song. Just a crow from the trees on the opposite side of the river and a seagul overhead. There is also a surprising lack of insect life. For a garden with a lot of "weeds" I would have thought the intention would be to encourage biodiversity but it felt like the exact opposite had been achieved. Even some of the specimen planting is being overtaken by bindweed, nettles, brambles, knotweed, ragwort and willow herb to name but a few of the invasive species. In conclusion, I am sorry to say but this garden really isn't worth the entry fee in it's current state.
