Beautiful! Well worth a visit

点评：Only just discovered this gem of a place despite living within half an hour of it. I went with my daughter and son in law as a trip out on their visit.
The gardens totally exceeded my expectations, full of interesting trees and colour, laid out in a way that draws you on, go round a corner or into a hedged enclosure and there is something more to delight. The whole experience was magical,
The main garden is sloping upwards, but wasn’t quite as steep as I feared from reading the descriptions beforehand. A nice feature of the map, tree guide and brief history you can buy for a pound on arrival is that it has all the seats in the garden marked on it.
And happy to find even in August and despite the drought of the last few months, it was lush green and flowering.
The smaller wild garden across the road is lovely in a different way, with a lily filled pond.
The cafe was excellent too.
I shall definitely be returning regularly now I’ve found it, maybe with a book to sit and read amongst the beauty as the website suggests you can do.
And as a note on a previous review, the entry price on the website is currently accurate.
