点评:The guide took us through the historic cellar and explained the process of making, fermenting, and aging wine in this family-run winery. His English was excellent and he answered our questions with enthusiasm for the subject even though he must have heard the same questions hundreds of times before. Afterwards he took us to the tasting room where tables were set with place settings of 5 different wine glasses plus a plate of cold cuts and breads with various cheeses and spreads. He introduced each wine with comments about the grapes used, soil composition, sun exposure, and harvest timing, along with comments about the acidity, tannin quality, and notes of aroma and flavor which even amateur wine lovers could appreciate. The tour ended with an opportunity to purchase the wine we had tasted, which many guests did in response to an excellent presentation of delicious wine. I purchased two bottles (Super Tuscan and Il Vignone) which I packed carefully to take back to the USA. I only regret that I couldn't take more in my small suitcase. If I return to Montepulciano, I won't make that mistake again!
