点评：Entertaining afternoon spent here. Entrance fee very reasonable, with reduction for seniors (over 60). The detail that's gone into the model village is amazing - the more you wander, the more you find. The rooms in the hotel were brilliant too, and the wedding taking place in the minster. We did the quiz - regardless of whether it's aimed at kids, it really makes you look into the shop windows and appreciate the detail. Lots of reminders of days gone by too.
In addition, there's a railway room, with an amazing layout of various trains, and buildings, a cliff lift, cable cars, windmill etc. So much packed in. A real achievement and some hard work gone into this. Also a teddy bear exhibition, with teddies in various settings, and dolls houses - again wonderful detail. And a room with all the building kits before Lego took over - a real walk down memory lane.
You might think it's for kids, but you'd be wrong - there's so much to entertain the older generation, as there's so many reminders of our childhood.
The cafe has cakes to die for, and makes a cracking cuppa, all at a very reasonable price. Well worth dropping in just for that.
All in all, a very enjoyable afternoon. Many thanks to the volunteers that give their time to keep this going and to maintain the beautiful gardens. Go and give them your support - it would be a crime to lose it.
