Bad experience at Blinkburn priory

点评：We visited this site 3 pm 24/07/2025. The English Heritage website made no mention that this site is closed. We visited to ascertain if site was appropriate for a family event and travelled over an hour to do so. On arrival there was a small sign stating the Priory was closed. Rather than making a return trip we ventured along the access road looking for somewhere to get some information about this location. How long shut for ( day week month permanently??). We made our way in the car to the priory to be met by a member of staff who quickly told us to leave as the place was closed. We stated we only wanted to see if the priory was appropriate, but was again told curtly to leave. We accepted this and drove up to the public car park where we stopped deciding what to do next. We were then aggressively approached by a male on foot who promptly told us we were on private land, shouldn't be there and to **** off. He even allowed his dog to scratch my car. Awful aggressive, very rude and abusive. Open or not, not exactly the friendliest reception from English Heritage staff. If the site is shut show this on website and on local signs, not let someone with genuine intentions be open to abuse!!!
