Breezy Knees Gardens的点评
点评：Well, this was a bit of a revelation! Our holiday accommodation was a four minute drive from Breezy Knees and we were lucky with a fantastic day, warm and sunny. This garden is quite simply stunning, even more so given that we were there right at the end of the season when most gardens are on the wane. This garden is huge and divided up into several smaller gardens each with their own theme. We expected the 'September Garden' to be colourful and it did not disappoint but there was actually plenty of colour throughout the rest of the garden too. I can't go into everything in a short review but highlights included the very fun timed fountain that is definitely worth waiting for, the splendid topiary garden flanked by a mass of white asters on one side and a mass of yellow rudbeckias on the other, the beautiful lawned garden still full of colour and interesting plants and the Rogue's Gallery where garden thugs battle it out with one another. I must also mention the rose garden which, unlike most rose gardens is not filled with lofty, old fashioned French or English roses but those hybrid teas and floribundas you can find at most garden centres and sold for special occassions like 'Mum In A Million' and 'Especially For You'. That made me smile. Indeed there is a strong vein of humour throughout the garden and that extends to the many sculptures throughout. In short, I loved it. The owners are obviously working on it constantly. Even the walk to the garden gate is being made as beautiful as the rest of the place. We had coffee and cake at the cafe at it was very good. I wish we lived closer as this would be a place to come every month of the year.
