Nyerimilang Heritage Park的点评
点评：The park encompasses the Nyerimilang Homestead, which was originally built as a weekender and has seen various uses over time, including a farm and a cattle stud farm. Nowadays the park features a historic homestead surrounded by semi-formal gardens, lawns, and picnic areas, set against the backdrop of the Gippsland Lakes.
You can explore walking tracks through bushland, wetlands, and an East Gippsland Indigenous Plant Garden, enjoying panoramic views of the lakes and Bass Strait.
I arrived here in the afternoon and I was fortunate that the homestead was still open... volunteers open it for restricted hours in Winter (which is kind of them) I managed to get here about half an hour before they closed the homestead. The volunteer I met was so friendly and welcoming.
I had visited the homestead many years earlier as part of my daughter's school trip, but I found being in a bus with so many children overwhelming and do not remember much about it. I was stunned that my memory failed me with this... it's really beautiful. Whilst I found the homestead fascinating ... even if you do not get to go inside, it's a great place to visit. And they have BBQs not too far inside the entrance, so you could really make a day of it.
