Great views, not worth the queuing and cost

点评：Our B&B owners told us “If you see the cable car going … then take it … there’s no guarantee it’ll be running tomorrow”. And how right they were.
As it was, we joined the queue at around 10.45am on a sunny Monday with what felt like light winds. It took 45 mins to get to the ticket booth where a sign informed us that the last car back down was 1pm and they were only selling single tickets at £15.50 each. Returns would have been an extra 50p - what sort of pricing structure is that?
We questioned whether to bother but figured we were there and I do love a cable car.
Ride up has some great views, the reason for the queue is that each car only takes 2 adults so it’s lovely not to be crammed in with strangers. Personally I don’t understand why some people were screaming, it’s not an extreme theme park ride.
On exiting the top station the sign for last car down was now saying 12 noon. We’d have had 10 mins. So in the end we choose to wander about the Orme without any time constraints. The options for back down, when the cable car isn’t running, is bus, tram or walk.
We walked. And it was great although there’s not really a formal footpath. We followed the tram route for the majority, got some great photos. 20mins back into town if you don’t stop for pics.

从山顶站出来后，指示最后一班下山缆车的标志上显示的时间是中午12点。我们原本预计能有10分钟时间。不过最后我们决定不受时间限制地在奥尔姆山上随意漫步。当缆车不运行时，下山的选项只有公交车、有轨电车或步行。
我们选择了步行。虽然并没有正式的人行道，但体验非常棒。大部分路程我们都是沿着有轨电车的路线行走，还拍到了不少不错的照片。如果不停下来拍照的话，20分钟就能回到镇上。
