点评:We visited this museum as part of a group expedition organised by our Havila cruise ship. We went to the church, which was excellent. The museum was a curious mixed bag of very good and not very good. Any museum has to get right both the organisation and the presentation of its collection. The organisation of the exhibits on the ground floor was OK, not perfect but good enough. However the presentation was remarkably inept. The labelling was trilingual (Norwegian, German, English) but seemed to be designed mostly for children to read as a good deal of it was at waist level, forcing visitors to bend right down to read the small text. The problem was compounded by the poor lighting design which made it even more difficult to read some of the labels and Indeed to see the exhibits - it's not often you'll see visitors in a museum using the torch function on their phones to try and make out the smaller exhibits! There was little natural light which left visitors at the mercy of the somewhat random spotlights.
Upstairs was a completely different story - well lit by natural light with large explanatory text and a simple route to follow. Please do this downstairs as well!
We also looked at the medieval farm - another disappointment. No animals, simply a description of weaving by just one (appropriately attired) medieval farm wife, but no description of life for a medieval farming family, which is what we thought we were going to get.
