点评：Any fan of Bob Marley or a fan of music in general should pay a visit to the Trench Town Culture Yard. This was not only the site where a young Bob and Rita Marley lived as he was beginning his music career, but Trench Town is the spiritual home of the reggae sound that spread throughout the world in the 1960s as so many musicians came from the neighborhood. Inside the Culture Yard, is the Government Yard where you can see Marley's single room residence where he and Rita would "share the shelter of my single bed " as he sang in "Is This Love". You will be given a guided tour at a cost of $20 USD/person. There are several other rooms visited containing displays and artifacts including Marley's guitar. His VW van that he drove in his early years is also on site. It was pretty powerful to see the humble beginning of this music great who was so influential in so many ways. Even though it was a pretty cool experience, in truth, there isn't a lot to see at the Culture Yard. You can see it all in 15-20 minutes. Our tour guide was not a professional tour guide but seemed like just a local fellow which in some ways added to the vibe of the experience, but there could be a better presentation. However, we had also arranged for a walking tour of the Trench Town neighborhood beyond the Culture Yard, and this made the visit so much more memorable. I called the number on the website and arranged for a tour with Sophia with InnerCity Tours who gave a great tour. The cost of the Culture Yard plus a tour of the neighborhood was $40/person but she provided a terrific tour telling us so much about the history of Trench Town and it included a stop in front of Bob Marley's childhood home, and this was probably the only safe way to explore the neighborhood without appearing out of place.
