点评:First of all, sorry for the length of this review , however, Teton Valley Lodge deserves every word of this:
My wife and I spent four nights at the lodge and four days on the rivers fishing with guides from the Lodge - a 50th birthday for me, that ended up being one of our favorite trips ever...
We are from Mississippi and, in the south, take our hospitality pretty seriously on all levels -- suffice it to say, Teton Valley Lodge may put us southerners to shame with regard to hospitality.
The lodge itself is amazing in every way - the people are all extraordinarily kind and accommodating. The cabin we stayed in (Cabin 10) was the perfect size for us to spread out gear - clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. All of the cabins are situated very close to the main Lodge for meals, meeting guides, sitting and relaxing and enjoying views at sunset/sunrise, etc.
The meals were outstanding each morning with a unique and filling breakfast every time, great selection of box lunch items for our time on the river, and the dinners each night were beyond amazing -- fried chicken (as good as any I've ever had in Mississippi), Wagyu beef tenderloin, prime rib, and schnitzel just to name a few of the main entrees -- all prepared by Chef Benji - who was kind and funny as he visited with us.
The fishing was simply the best experience I've ever had -- I have fly fished all over the US, Spain, UK, the Caribbean among other places - and can honestly say, this was the most enjoyable time with guides and most enjoyable fishing I've ever done...
We fished one day with Brian Berry (who is the 4th generation owner/operator of the lodge) in the Bear Gulch section of the Henry's Fork. I've fished some long and tough days with some really talented guides before, but never in my life has a guide worked (literally) as hard as Brian worked to put me and my wife in position for BOTH of us to have success -- I landed the biggest brown trout I've ever held with Brian's guidance. The whole reason for this trip - a day on the Henry's Fork - delivered literally the best day of fishing I've ever had.
We fished with guide Matt Enoch two days on two different parts of the South Fork and had an absolute blast both days - just like our day with Brian, Matt worked as hard as anyone I've fished with and put us both on dozens of fish. My wife has only fly fished a handful of times but on our first day out with Matt was able to land a >16 inch Rainbow, Brown and Cutthroat. She has always "tolerated" my fly fishing habit, but Matt made her fall in love with fly fishing!
Our last day was spent on another section of the South Fork with Nate Burr - a local guide who grew up near all the rivers fished by Teton Valley Lodge -- again, Nate had us on fish the entire day float and specifically made sure we fished in different ways and in different areas of the South Fork -- the highlights of the day (that again included 20-30+ hookups) were about 4 gorgeous cutthroats my wife and I brought to hand and got quick photos with...
Just cannot say enough about the quality of the guides, the quality of the fisheries and the beauty of the different rivers we fished
Even though we didn't get to fish the Teton River on the this trip, that will be the main focus when we come back in the future...
The last comments I will make about this amazing place are about the staff and patrons - I've mentioned the kindness of the chefs, but the same was true of all the staff that brought us meals, cleaned up after us, cleaned our room each day, tended the Lodge Shop (Hannah, we can't wait to come back and meet that baby of yours when he's born...), and showed us around over the 4 days we were there -- it was 5-star service from start to finish.
The patrons of the Lodge were also some of the kindest people we have ever met - and most have been returning for years and even decades... sharing meals with them and hearing their stories from their days and telling them stories of ours was unlike anything we had ever enjoyed on a "fishing trip"
To close, I will say that our time at the Teton Valley Lodge was far more than a "fishing trip" -- it quickly became the kind of place we MUST bring our kids as well as our friends back to experience with us -- it's just too good not to share...
Thank you to Brian and his family for keeping this Lodge going and running as a first class fishing lodge
