点评:Located not far from Tipasa on the way from Algiers this archaeological site has ample free parking and is often deserted. The visit does not take long and about twenty minutes are more than enough to go around this funerary monument. We did not find any other tourists and we were able to move around and take photos peacefully but only from the outside because we discovered that access to the two vaulted chambers in the center of the mausoleum was closed and practically never opened. Built in 3 BC here were buried the king of Numidia Juba II and his consort Cleopatra Selene II daughter of the famous queen Cleopatra of Egypt. Due to tomb raiding, which occurred in distant times, neither human remains nor other objects have ever been found in this mausoleum. Although partly damaged and vandalised, it is still an interesting short visit and not to be missed if you go to Tipaza from Algiers.
