点评：It cost 500 yen to enter, and is within the Goryokaku Tower / Park, surrounded by its green.
The office was first established by the shogunate to govern the Hokkaido and Tsugaru regions, built within Goryokaku. What we see now is has taken 4 years to restore, with the building as closely resembling the same luxurious materials and traditional Japanese building techniques. Quite a unique building amongst the large Park. It is a place where you can feel the history reflecting the Edo period and the governance of the Shogunate.
It used to be the government office for the northern guard of the Edo Shogunate, and was brought back to life in 2010, after 140 years since its inception (and subsequent demolition). Not a big office and Visitors are required to take off their footwear.
Worth a visit especially when you are exploring the Park
