Cheaper aquarium prices than most in U.S. plus a VR theater experience

点评：According to a Feb. 2025 U.S. News & World Report travel article, this is one of the 16 best aquariums in the U.S. for 2025. After an early dinner in North Las Vegas, I drove my family to the parking garage ($20 daily flat rate) at Mandalay Bay so we could all escape the heat and see the Shark Reef Aquarium. The line for tickets was a 20 minute wait at 5:30pm on a Thursday. We each got an Timed-Entry ticket (good for the one-hour window selected) at $29/adult. These type of tickets are $27/ages 65+, $24/ages 5-12, and FREE for ages 4 and under if you fit into those age ranges. We did not. You will not save any money buying tickets online. Alternatively, there is an option to purchase Anytime tickets online in advance (good for any time during aquarium hours for the day of your ticket) if you want to spend $7 more per ticket. This option makes absolutely no sense. Just show up in person, buy your cheaper ticket, and enjoy. Too easy.
In the aquarium, we saw crocodiles, Komodo dragons, Burmese python, sawfish, stingrays, piranhas, jellyfish, lionfish, starfish, octopus, different types of sharks, and many other kinds of fish. There are some stairs entering/existing the aquarium, they also provide escalators and an elevator if you need them. We spent approx. 40 minutes in the aquarium.
Your ticket gets you into both the Shark Reef Aquarium AND Undersea Explorer VR Experience. Do not forget to go to the theater after you are done touring the Aquarium!!! I can't stress this enough. It is easy to forget. You will be able to enjoy a 360 degrees underwater adventure with 3D virtual reality headsets and motion seats where whales and sharks seemingly swimming right next to you in the South Pacific. We spent approx. 10 minutes in the VR theater. Our family really enjoyed this visit as we love checking out aquariums.
