点评:The Walled Garden at Gadebridge Park are a hidden gem. It is unusual these days for town parks to undertake such large and colourful displays of bedding plants. Around the edges of the walled garden are a colourful display of perennial plants.
The Walled Gardens is also called Charterhouse Garden, and are on the footprint of Burry Manor House. Some rather atmospheric ruins of the tower remain. On the practical side, the paths are all well maintained, and the gardens are very accessible for buggies/ wheelchairs. There are plenty of seats to relax and enjoy the lovely setting.
The whole park is 32 ha with large lawns, playing fields and sporting facilities. In the main part of the park, there are many interesting mature trees. In the valley is the River Gade, with a charming historic bridge. There is also some planting of wildflowers by the entrance and below the church. There are also two small gardens in addition to the Walled Garden - both in remembrance - one planted 20 years ago for families who experiences stillbirths and another in 2022 for those lost to Covid.
