San Jose Island with electric bicycles. Must Do!!

点评：Beautiful place to get away from the crowds. We arrived about 8:30 for the 9 am ferry ride to the island. My husband and I brought our electric bicycles so it took us a little extra time to buy the tickets and get to the boat. $20 each seemed a little expensive but it was a one-time trip and we did have our bikes to ride. It was a nice 5-minute ride to the island and there were a total of 12 people who went at that time. We rode our bikes about 5 miles down the island in the surf and sand, enjoying all the birds and saw no other people that far down. We stopped occasionally so I could search for shells and sand dollars. We found the biggest shells! Angel wings, scallops, cockle, Mundial, welks, quahogs, too many to count! I found 18 sand dollars, the majority were small whole ones but a few large ones. Bring bags and paper towels to keep them safe. There is trash on the island but what is surprising is the number of hard hats we saw on the sand. All we could figure was they are coming from the oil rigs or large ships. All in all, it was a really nice fun time and I will definitely do it again with my granddaughters.
