Beautiful beach fabulous water
Mellieha Beach的点评
点评：Mellieha beach is one of the very few beaches in Malta. It is pure sand that leads very gently into very shallow clear beautiful water. This beach is ideal for people not wanting to go into deep water which is ideal for kids. The water is also a very nice temperature and is always very calm. There are two parts to this beach. Looking towards the sea from “Munchies” restaurant, on the left hand side we have the quieter section of beach with a cafe serving food and drinks. There are 100 parasols and 200 sun beds here arranged in rows as normal. Cost was 18 Euros for a parasol and two sun beds at this time of writing. Beds have very comfortable thick mattresses too which was very pleasing. The cafe offers a good selection of food and drinks and staff were all very friendly so too were the “sun bed men”.
Water activities are also available here which we found to be very expensive. For example to hire a jet ski for 30 minutes was a whopping 75 Euros no thanks. If you enjoy snorkelling stick to the left hand side of the water beyond the orange buoys and close to the rocks there are countless fish to enjoy and some of decent size.
To the right of ”Munchies” we have the much cluttered side which stretches at least four times longer than the previously mentioned area and accommodates hundreds and hundreds of people. Too “cattle market” for us. There are additional water activities available this side too plus beach kiosks selling drinks etc. I did walk the length of the beach and found the sand and water identical though very nice indeed but just too busy for us.
Please do visit this beach you will have a fabulous day. Parking is limited but the beach is accessible by bus or taxi of course.
