Hermaness National Nature Reserve的点评
点评：This was number one on my places to visit on our Shetland trip and it didn't disappoint. There is an information/visitors area in the car park with clean toilets open 24 hours, and your walk starts from there.
We took in the long hike heading up and over the hill to look out over Muckle Flugger and Out Stack. It starts off on a boardwalk, good for stopping you straying into a bog or getting too close to Bonxies (Great Skuas) nesting areas. When the boardwalk heads off to the left, keep going straight, up the hill following way the markers. The birdlife is amazing, getting closer to puffins than we thought possible. The path then turns left and follows the coastline until eventually getting back to the boardwalk where you turn back down to the car park.
If not straying from the boards, there is no need for hiking boots, but I'd definitely recommend sturdy foot ware for the longer route. It is around 3.5 hours allowing for lots of photo stops, and care should be taken, especially in high winds . . . but it is more than worth the effort!
