Great base camp for exploring the Prairie Reserve and CMRussell NWR.

点评：We stopped in Lewistown on our way to the APR campground at Antelope Creek. A good move on our part. This relatively new interp center is very well done and well worth the hour or so it takes to enjoy the exhibits and displays. You'll be well educated when you are done and the staff is super helpful.
We stayed four nights at the Antelope Creek Campground, right off highway 191, and enjoyed every bit of it. The camp hosts are very helpful with local things to do, including tips to drive roads you otherwise might not attempt that got you to killer overlooks and views. There is hiking right from the campground, both on an interp trail around the campground and out onto adjacent BLM land. Elk viewing (we were there late September) at the Charles M Russell NWR was in full swing. The refuge also has a really good driving loop that starts just a couple miles from the campground. We drove to Sun Prairie one day to check out that campground and see the bison herd. Was glad we didn't drive the 45 miles of gravel road with our little trailer, but would have liked to camp there and trailers with good suspension would be no problem.
Antelope Creek campground is super close to the Little Rocky Mountains and the drive out of Hays up the canyon is a must do. There is gas in Zortman at the resort.
The restroom/shower facility is super nice. Very clean and modern. And there is high speed internet!! Well worth what it costs a night to stay here. This is a great place to base out of to explore this part of Montana.
