No longer the experience it used to be years ago...
Baggeridge Country Park的点评
点评：I live next door to and actually inside Baggeridge. When I first moved here 3.5 years ago, it was a seemingly well maintained area. Unfortunately, with the bad weather we had in the past two years particularly, and I can only imagine budget cuts, the park is now falling heavily into disrepair with broken off branches and overturned trees everywhere you go. No clearance is undertaken and in some areas it is becoming hazardous to walk even. Overturned trees being left in many areas, including in the large ponds, stopping the water from flowing freely.
It breaks my heart personally as it is the perfect spot for families and dog walkers, solo visitors to come to.
The café also has room for improvement, with pricey coffees which are small and no real offerings, apart from the standard faire. This is surprising as it is busy during the clearer months whenever I walk past. A lot more could be done to increase business and food offerings, including proper lunches, variety of cakes potentially?
With nature in decline in the area as it is, many people no longer having gardens, this country park needs to be protected at all costs! Regeneration of trees and plants for pollinators should be established to keep this park alive and well. There is an abundance of wildlife living in the area, which we cannot afford to lose!
With school classes visiting almost every week, it is the perfect place to teach children about nature and its huge importance! But for that, the park needs to be maintained properly and appropriately. It is sadly such a mess now and no longer what it used to be.
