点评：Really disappointed with our visit today for Mother’s Day. This is usually a café we enjoy and have had lovely experiences at before, which made today even more frustrating.
I had specifically booked a table in the conservatory, but when we arrived they initially couldn’t find the booking. After some confusion it was eventually found, only for us to be told we’d been moved to an overflow room instead. After we had already arrived, I also received an email saying my conservatory booking had been changed to “Val’s Overflow”, which was a bit frustrating as we hadn’t been told beforehand. When I asked about this, I was told seating requests are “never guaranteed”, despite this not being mentioned anywhere when booking online. Also, I noticed that there were empty tables in the conservatory, so why were we moved? We were 5-10 minutes early for our booking, so why didn’t we just get sat there?
Unfortunately the overflow room had no music or atmosphere and the service there was very poor. We waited around 15 minutes for anyone to take our order and I eventually had to go and ask. We weren’t checked on during the meal and were never offered the complimentary tea refills that come with the afternoon teas.
It was also a shame that all the other mums were given a little Mother’s Day gift on arrival, but my mum was forgotten until the very end.
Sadly the whole experience felt quite disorganised and has left us feeling disappointed and a bit put off returning.
