Fascinating Pella Historical Village in Pella, Iowa!
Historical Village, Vermeer Windmill & Scholte House的点评
点评：I traveled to Pella, Iowa fo! the annual Tulip Festival. While attending the festival, I visited the Pella Heritage Village and the Scholte House. The historical village was fantastic and well worth the $25.00 admission fee. There were several historic buildings replicating buildings one would see in a Dutch village. In addition to those smaller buildings, there was a house in which Wyatt Earp and family had lived in. It was filled with exhibits on Wyatt Earp's life. There was also a building called Heritage Hall which housed many exhibits, including a gallery of Dutch costumes worn in the the different provinces. Another part of Heritage Hall had rooms that had historical furnishings. There were also places for interactive activities involving children and in some of the historic buildings, skills were being demonstrated such as the blacksmith and wooden shoe cobbler shop. I ended up spending much more time in the village than I had anticipated! Admission to the village also included going up into the huge Vermeer Windmill. I did not do the inside tour of the Scholte House Museum due to lack of time but enjoyed walking around the outside of it in the gardens there.
