点评：Pune is famous for Hills and Forts which all are located in Western Ghats, Out of which Lonavala, Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Panchagani and Matheran are famous. We can enjoy Western ghats view from these hill stations. From all above mentioned hill stations we can enjoy panoramic view of lush greenery western ghats. Nature lovers would simply love this western ghats views.
The range runs north to south along with western edge of the Deccan plateau, and separates the plateau from a narrow coastal plain Konkan along the Arabian Sea.
Western Ghats are World Heritage sites and is one of the eight hottest hot spots of biological diversity in the world. Western Ghats are the only one region in India among the 8 such regions in the world. A total of 39 properties were designated as world heritage sites in western ghats out of which four are in Maharashtra and remaining are located in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
