点评：This tour was absolutely amazing start to finish. Vasto itself is a lovely medieval town with incredible views of the Adriatic Sea. Fabrizio took us to his family farm in the country where we made pasta, pizza, bread and cookies with his mother and aunt cooking the pizza in a wood fired brick oven and eating outside under a grape arbor. We harvested anchovies from a trabocchi and visited a medieval castle in the mountains. We ate incredible food that I’ve never had before and delicious dishes that took me back to my childhood. The freshness, smells and flavor of the food were outstanding.
We picked olives and watched as they turned them into oil and bottled it for us to take home. We tasted delicious wines that I’d never heard of before. On our final day we went up into the mountains to visit the amazing home of a sculptor and an artist who cooked the most delicious meal from everything they had grown on their farm. We ate outside with the most beautiful vistas of the mountains and farm lands below.
The Abruzzo people are special.
They are friendly, kind, generous and so obviously proud to share their way of living. For 7 days we went back in time to a simpler and healthier, happier way of life. Thank you Fabrizio for making this the trip of a lifetime. I can’t wait to go back.
